You've Got to Be Kidding Me

Okay, I can't pass up the opportunity to blog about this. It just INFURIATES me!!! And, that's putting it mildly. I have to begin the story with my adventure after work today.

Today was my first day back at work and I was so glad to be out of the house. HALLELUJAH!!! Well, as I posted a few days ago, I had a flat Tuesday. Well, after work today, I went to this tire place, that I heard was great & cheap, to see if I could have the flat plugged. So, off I go! It literally took 10 minutes and the job was done. The people were so friendly and it only set me back $10. WOOHOO!!!

Well, while I was in the waiting room, I was semi-watching CNN, when I heard this, and I quote, ". . . we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals . . . from what I hear, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors.'' ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????

So, of course, my ears (or should I say "ear" - I'll save this for another post) perked up. You can read the entire story at Sports Illustrated - Stephon Marbury defends Michael Vick. It seems that Stephon Marbury, who plays for the New York Knicks, is defending Michael Vick. The audacity of someone to compare the brutality that is dogfighting to a sport just makes me so angry. Mind you, I'm not for shooting or harming any animals (including deer), but training animals to be aggressive and then doing such things as electrocuting/hanging/shooting them when they don't "win" is NOWHERE close to a "sport." It's an atrocity and it's a CRIME!!!

I think it's time "celebrities" learn that they are not exempt from the law! Mr. Vick needs to spend some quality time in prison. Preferably, pinned up in a cage with 50 or 60 other prisoners, fighting, and if he "loses," well, just shoot him - - - after all, it's just a "sport," right???

Where he doesn't belong is playing football for the Atlanta Falcons or any other team. He needs a new job . . . maybe a dog walker or a pooper scooper or something like that. That pays, what??? $5-$6/hour??? That's what he deserves - - - not playing football for $30 or $40 million dollars a year.

Just my two cents worth . . .
