Sweet Lizzy

Today, I had to say goodbye to my furry sister, Lizzy. She was diagnosed with cancer in November and it took her precious life this morning. Below is a picture I snapped of her at the Vet's office. It's not the best picture because I took it with my cellphone.

Rest in Peace, sweet Lizzy!

You were a wonderful companion & friend for almost 12 years.

I love you & will miss you always!

This has been a very sad day and I'm sure it will continue to be for a good long while. I would appreciate your prayers!

Now, after the prayers of thousands upon thousands of people and God's mercy & grace, this precious little miracle is going home tomorrow. Head over to Kelly's blog for the details. PRAISE THE LORD for this miracle child!

Answered Prayer

The Stamps family had the best day yesterday! Little Harper is quite the miracle! She is now off of all the machines and is feeding and being held by her loving parents. If this isn't an answer to prayer, I don't know what is. The pictures are definitely worth 1,000+ words! Head over to Kelly's blog for the full story.

Prayer Request

I have been reading this sweet lady's blog for a long time. She gave birth to her miracle baby, Harper, this evening. From what I've read, it sounds like Harper could use a miracle right about now. Please lift up Harper, Kelly, Scott and the rest of the family in your prayers. I know that they would appreciate it very much.

Terrible Tragedy - - - Pray for the Chapman Family

I just read that Steven Curtis Chapman's youngest daughter, Maria, who was adopted from China, was tragically killed this afternoon when she was hit by a vehicle driven by her brother in the driveway of their home. Apparently, he did not see her. What a terrible tragedy that this family is having to endure. Lift this family up in prayer during this terrible time. Below is a press release from his website:

MARIA SUE CHAPMAN, DAUGHTER OF STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN, DIES IN ACCIDENT

AT FAMILY HOME

NASHVILLE, TN...5/21/08... At approximately 5pm on the afternoon of Thursday May 21st, Maria Sue Chapman, 5 years old and the youngest daughter to Steven and Mary Beth Chapman was struck in the driveway of the Chapman home in Franklin, TN. Maria was rushed to Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital in Nashville, transported by LifeFlight, but died of her injuries there. Maria is one of the close knit family’s six children and one of their three adopted daughters.

More than five years ago, Chapman and his wife MaryBeth founded The Shaohannah’s Hope Ministry after bringing their first adopted daughter, Shaohannah, home from China. The ministry’s goal is to help families reduce the financial barrier of adoption, and has provided grants to over 1700 families wishing to adopt orphans from around the world. Chapman is a five-time GRAMMY ® winner and 54-time Dove Award winning artist who has sold over 10 million albums and garnered 44 No. 1 singles.

If You Pray . . .

image Without going into a lot of details, I've been struggling with some things that have finally gotten to a point where something HAS to be done. Tomorrow, I will have a meeting with someone these struggles are related to in order to discuss my concerns. As someone reminded me this evening, when you start asking questions, you should always be prepared for the worst. I've actually been preparing myself for the worst for a while. I honestly don't know what the reaction will be to the issues I bring up. It could lead to a much bigger problem for me, but I know that standing up for myself and speaking up about things that shouldn't be happening is far more important than anything else. Being able to sleep at night and having a peace about where I am in my life means more to me than anything.

So, with that said . . . please say an extra special prayer for me tomorrow. I know that God has His hand on my life and that no matter what happens, He will take care of me. This is something that I've been praying about for a long time & I know this is what God wants me to do! Please pray specifically that God will give me the right words to say and the right attitude in my approach. Pray that God will open up the doors that need to be opened & close those that need to be closed.

Hugs & thanks to all of you,

Praying for Tim

Tim

A guy that is involved heavily in Relay for Life with me is battling cancer for the third time! He is a young (in his 30s), single dad. He was diagnosed with appendix cancer in 2004, gall bladder cancer in 2006 and most recently, in late 2007, with liver cancer. He went into surgery at 8:00 yesterday morning and was still in recovery at 9:45 last night. It was a long day, but I'm told that Tim came through the surgery well. They removed 3% of his liver, a small spot on his colon and a small tumor off of his diaphragm. He is currently in a "step down room" (better than ICU) and will hopefully get into a regular room soon. If you would, please remember Tim and his family in your prayers as he recovers from surgery & goes through treatment. Thank you so much!!

TIM - - - if you're reading this - - - we all love you & are praying for a speedy recovery!!! Let us know if there's anything you need!
